Pics.io integration with WordPress CMS

Learn the benefits and advantages of the integration of your Pics.io digital library with your content managment.

Written by Nazar Krushelnytsky

WordPress is a free and open-source platform used to create and manage websites. It powers around 40% of all websites on the Internet. Our integration eases the process of creating and interacting with your WordPress websites. Now you may create a post or page and add media materials directly from the Pics.io library without leaving your browser tab.

We understand the challenge that WordPress users face when dealing with a large number of images on their website's pages and posts, and the time-consuming task of managing them within the Media library. We solve the main problem by allowing you to pull up images directly from your Pics.io library, from a place where they already stay organized and easy to reach.

It also features:

  • Time-efficient way of finding the needed images for your page or post with the help of a powerful search engine.

  • Improving productivity by focusing on the content of your site instead of wasting time on finding a proper image in different windows on your computer.

  • Instant access to your Pics.io images from the WordPress panel with several clicks.

NB! The integration is available starting from the Micro plan, allowing you to integrate the plugin with the Pics.io library at no additional charge.

Install the plugin

As of now, to use our plugin, you will need to install it manually. The installation process is quick and easy and should take no longer than 2 minutes to complete.

The plugin is only compatible with the default WordPress editor (https://wordpress.com/support/editors/#word-press-editor), and unfortunately, it doesn’t support Classic or other editors at this time.

To install the Pics.io plugin to your WordPress, follow the steps:

  1. Download the latest version of the WordPress plugin to your computer by following this link or from the landing page about Wordpress;

  2. Open your WordPress admin panel.

  3. Find the "Plugins" section on the left-hand menu and click on it.

  4. On the "Plugins" page, click the "Add New" button.

  5. Find the "Upload Plugin" button at the top and click the 'choose the file' button.

  6. Locate and choose the downloaded Pics.io plugin on your computer (if downloading started automatically, check the Downloads folder).

  7. Click the "Install Now" button, then click the "Activate Plugin".

  8. Wait for the installation and activation process to complete.

That's it. Now, you are ready to start using the plugin for your WordPress site.

If you encounter any issues during the installation process, please do not hesitate to contact our support team at support@pics.io or via a chat widget available on our Pics.io website.

Tip: The Gallery option will allow you to import a selection of images using checkboxes whereas the Image is suitable for uploading a single image.

Search Criteria

To help you locate your assets effortlessly and perform a more extensive search, we implemented the broad search from the main application to our plugin, which means you are able to search by different criteria including files' metadata inside the plugin. The panel includes the following filters:

  • Title, Description

  • Keywords

  • Filename and Collection name

  • Content

  • Custom Fields

  • Persons

  • Upload date and Last changed

  • Flag, color, rating

  • Restricted assets

The type is greyed out because only Images are supported.
