In Pics.io, you have the flexibility to work with different storage providers to meet your specific needs. It seamlessly integrates with Google Drive, Amazon S3 and provides its own Pics.io storage (powered by S3), allowing you to manage and organize your files efficiently.
It's important to note that only one storage provider can be connected at a time.
Sometimes, you might have reasons to alter or reset the storage type for your Pics.io team account. Here are some of the most common situations that often prompt these changes:
Quite often, during the trial period of using Pics.io, customers might need to switch to a different storage type than initially selected to thoroughly test the platform with the supported storage options.
If some employee departs from your organization and Pics.io is connected to a Google Drive folder through this person's Google account, you might need to reset the storage configuration. In this scenario, you'll need to reconnect the same folder using a different user's Google account.
To find out what storage provider is connected to your Pics.io account and where your digital assets are stored, simply hover over your avatar in the top right corner, and then click on "Storage". From there, you can easily see which of the three storage providers is linked to your Pics.io account.
The reset storage button is shown only during a trial period.
If you're on a paid plan, reach out to Pics.io support to assist you in changing your account's storage type.
Should your organization undergo a migration from one supported storage type to another or require a reset to connect to a different provider, we can help you reset your current storage type within your Pics.io account.
Additionally, we offer a free-of-charge migration of your data (files + metadata) from Google Drive or Amazon S3 to Pics.io storage should you decide to switch and choose our provider. The migration process is free for the users subscribed to the Micro and higher plans.
Please note that changing a storage provider from your current to any other supported on your own may result in a complete, irreversible wipe of your data.
Pics.io storage
Pics.io storage is recognized for its reliability, robust strength, and top-tier security as it's powered by Amazon S3 infrastructure. This is particularly appreciated by many of our users who value the simplicity of not having to set up buckets themselves (as in the case of a straightforward S3 setup). Additionally, users always retain the flexibility to directly access their files via the bucket using any S3-compatible client.
If you ever might need to connect your Pics.io account to Google Drive or Amazon S3 instead of the Pics.io storage, let us know at support@pics.io and we will get back to you shortly.
